Activity: 4 mile NYRR Run for the Parks and Boston
It was a cold and windy morning. Just when I had gotten used to Spring temperatures the cold winter-like weather came back again. Hopefully this is the last cold front we have to face.
The run today was for the Parks, but due to recent events there were far more people running for Boston. It is always great to see so many runners unite together for a cause. Everyone was wearing signs that said "I run for Boston". There were definitely more policemen around today as well as sniffer dogs. It was sad to see so much security for a run, though I understand why they had it. A race is supposed to be stress free and energizing, having the NYPD at every turn made me feel like I had to look over my shoulder incase I saw something. I was definitely more alert while running this morning. I do hope the security eases and the weather gets warmer as the weeks go by.
