Morning Runs are Amazing

Days left till NYC Triathlon: 53

Activity: Morning Run in Central Park

It has been a while since I went for a morning run in Central Park. I attribute lack of morning workouts due to my evening group training sessions and my crazy travel schedule. Today I was meeting my running buddy at Central Park; this ensured I would wake up and get my butt out of bed (Thank you Priya!)!

Summer has arrived in New York, I know this because I did not have to think about the weather as I left my house. Usually, I have to think about what to wear in terms of layering and / or thickness of shirt. In the summer there is  no such pre-planning, I put on my workout clothes and am on my way. The park was beautiful at 6 am in the morning, everything is green and the flowers are blooming. We ran 5 miles, starting at Columbus Circle running up the bridle path, round the reservoir and back. There was a lovely breeze as we were running, I am enjoying the cool near perfect weather as I know it is going to get much warmer in the next few weeks. Getting training done in the morning is the best way to start the day.
